Telemedicine technology has the potential to transform health care delivery and address many care coordination challenges facing the U.S. health care system, including access to quality healthcare for rural residents across the country. Telemedicine can facilitate remote, mobile and site-to-site medical care and lower costs and reduce hospital readmissions by providing alternative post-care treatment.
