About the Speakers:

Michael Pry

Michael is the Director of Continuous Improvement and Enterprise Risk Management for Excela Health.

Michael has 7 Years of Healthcare Experience, 10 Years Global Information Technology and Risk Management Experience and served 10 years in the US Army. Michael is the Assistant Professor of Computer Science/Cyber Security, American InterContinental University and nominated for Instructional Excellence Award, Best Student Outcomes (2016, 2017) and is part of the University Curriculum Development Committee. Michael is also a member of the following organizations:

  • InfraGard Healthcare Sector Chief, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Pittsburgh Field Office, Cyber Intelligence Workgroup

Michael has a Master of Science in Computer Science and Information Assurance from the University of Maryland. He is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Cisco Certified Network Associate and Master Lean Blackbelt.

 

Matthew M. Slavonic

Matt is the IT Security Manager, of the Vulnerability Management Team at UPMC for the last 4 years, with 12 additional years as an IT Auditor and Data Governance Analyst for Dollar Bank and UPMC. The Vulnerability Management team proactively monitors UPMC IT assets (servers, workstations, web components, network devices, wireless devices, third party vendors, mobile applications, and medical devices) and reports security vulnerabilities against UPMC policies, regulatory bodies and industry best practices to System Owners and Executive Management. Matt holds a B.S. in Management Information Systems at Penn State-Behrend and an M.B.A. from Point Park University. Matt is also a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and HITRUST Certified Common Security Framework (CSF) Practitioner.

 

Ryan George

Ryan has been a healthcare IT professional for over 12 years, with the last 4 years being spent in Information Security. As a Senior Manager overseeing 3 security teams, Ryan’s focus has been on delivering enterprise-level security technologies and programs, ensuring adherence to information security best practices, and working to implement effective controls and protections to safeguard patient and employee information as well as UPMC assets. Ryan holds a B.S. degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the Ohio State University, and a M.S. degree in Information Systems Management from Duquesne University.
